Standard Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs)

For reliable operation, transient voltage suppression should be addressed early in the design process. This is especially important as modern electronic components are increasingly vulnerable to electrical transients. Designers must identify potential transient threats and ensure compliance with product standards and regulations while choosing appropriate solutions.

MOVs are variable resistors that adjust resistance based on the applied voltage. When the voltage increases, the resistance decreases, and vice versa, making them ideal for protecting circuits from voltage surges. They are commonly used as surge protectors in electrical networks.
